AVGCC runs each time a user logs in and through it you can edit various settings of the AVG system and monitor the status of individual components. The AVGCC system tray icon is multi-colored when all components are working correctly, and turns gray if there is a problem. By clicking the icon, you can open the main the windows of AVGCC.AVG Anti-Virus also has an Advanced Interface that gives you a nice view of the tests you can run, scheduled tasks, test results and more. This interface is more for advanced users. It takes a little while to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will find it logical and easy to maneuver.
Disable/Enable AVG Anti Virus Disabling AVG’s antivirus and e-mail scanning protection:
The most common way to spread virus is by E-mail, you should typically enable automatic e-mail scanning. E-mail scanning applies to programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, Pegasus, etc. E-mail attachments, html files, etc. will be scanned automatically. If you are having problems with an e-mail program, turn off AVG Antivirus to ensure AVG Antivirus is not the culprit. Enabling AVG Antivirus is quite simple. Do the following:
In the bottom, right-hand corner of your Desktop is the System Tray and, within it, the AVG Antivirus icon.
Right click the AVG Antivirus icon and select Launch AVG Control Center from the menu.
The Control Center window appears.
On the left, highlight E-mail Scanner.
Toward the bottom, right-hand corner of the window, click the Properties button.
The E-mail Scanner window appears.
Select the Plugins tab.
Toward the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen, click the Disable plugin button.
Click the OK button to close the window.
The E-mail Scanner has now been disabled.
Close the window.
Re-enable Automatic E-mail Scanning:
To re-enable automatic e-mail scanning, do the following:
In the bottom, right-hand corner of your Desktop, right click the AVG Antivirus icon and select Launch AVG Control Center from the menu.
The Control Center window appears.
On the left, highlight E-mail Scanner.
Toward the bottom, right-hand corner of the window, click the Activate button.
The E-mail Scanner is now enabled.
Close the window.
